Help Save the Environment through Samsung’s S.T.A.R. Program

Recycling is one way of helping our environment. If you are wondering how you can help save the environment in your own little way, Samsung has a recycling program that will make sure you do your part.

Regardless of the Samsung printer you are using, you will need to change your empty printer cartridges at one point or another. Empty cartridges contain materials and chemicals that can harm the environment when disposed improperly. Hence, Samsung introduces the S.T.A.R. Program or Samsung Takeback and Recycle Program that is open to all individual and business customers.

Samsung Takeback And Recycle Program

The program policy is simple and does not require a fee to join. All you have to do is mail your empty ink and toner cartridges back to Samsung. This ensures that all cartridges are recycled properly to minimize harmful environmental impacts.

Here is how the company recycles empty cartridges:

  • Collection of returned empty cartridges from individuals and businesses.
  • Sorting and dividing of materials like metals, non-metals, plastics and resins, and other miscellaneous materials.
  • Cutting and/or melting recovered materials; quality checking of processed materials.
  • Reusing recovered materials to produce new products.

How to Join the Program

To begin participating in the S.T.A.R Program, visit Samsung website and fill the form to obtain your SmartLabel (free shipping label). An email will be sent to you including your processed SmartLabel. Print your SmartLabel, place the empty cartridge in your new Samsung ink or toner cartridge package, and attach the printed return shipping label. Drop your package in any U.S. Postal Service mailbox and you are done.

S.T.A.R Office Collection Box is also available for businesses that consume volumes of inks and toners.

Proper recycling of ink and toner cartridges can go a long way in protecting our environment. Instead of disposing empty Samsung printer cartridges in trash bins, send them back to Samsung. The process will only take a few minutes of your time. If you have friends who are also using Samsung printers, collect their empty Samsung ink or toner cartridges and send them along with yours using one return label. Individual consumers can send back as much as 30 lbs. in weight.
