How do I Clear what is in the Printer Spool?
There is no doubt that printer spools can be quite irritating. One needs to get rid of them. Here a few steps that will do that for you.
STEP 1: The Start
On your desktop, go to ‘Start’ and the click on ‘Run’
STEP 2: ‘Services.msc’
You need type in the words, ‘services.msc’. At this prompt another window will open titled ‘Services’.
STEP 3: Print Spooler
There will be an alphabetical list on display. Scroll down the right window pane. Keep scrolling till you reach ‘Print Spooler’.
STEP 4: Stopping the Process
Right-click on the ‘Print Spooler’ and choose the ‘Stop’ option. Now, all the print queues processes on your computer will come to a stop.
STEP 5: Windows Explorer
The process is not yet over. Open a Windows Explorer window. Keep the ‘Print Spooler’ window open.
STEP 6: Clear the Jam
The Windows folder needs to be and you must find the System 32 folder. Search the spool folder and open a folder marked ‘Spool’ within this folder. Open ‘printer’ folder in this folder.
STEP 7: Delete Files
All files in the printer folder need to be deleted. Thus, there will be no files in the jammed print queue.
STEP 8: Restarting
Now, close the explorer window. The spool files have now been emptied. The print spool services are not needed to be restarted. Go to ‘Print Spool’ and click on ‘Start’. Now you can begin the printing process again, without being hampered by the accumulated spools.
